visiting the pumpkin patch

as i sit here, typing on this computer, i am amazed at the human body. i think the Lord created such a complex and incredible body for each one of us, that we have no reason to be in awe of Him, each and every day.

at this very moment: thoughts are appearing in my head, which are triggering words to come together into a sentence to explain those thoughts. then my brain is sending signals to my hands to type them. each finger knows exactly what to do and all of this is happening in fractions of a second. wow!

i am only thinking about this because of how much i have seen ava learn recently. last thursday, she was laying on teressa's stomach and teressa was showing her how to pull herself up into a sitting position. the next day, she was doing it by herself when they tried again, and Ava couldn't stop laughing. how does a 4 month old child learn this?

tonight, she started making the motor boat noise with her lips at teressa. then teressa did it back. then she answered and did it again. she did it a dozen times! how does such a young child learn this so quickly. i still can't believe that she reaches out and grabs things. it feels like she was just born yesterday.

well, i just praise God for His faithfulness in her life. every moment, He is with us. by the way, she has jumped back into her routine since returning home and she still sleeps about 12 hours a night. we are very thankful for that too.

here are some photos from the pumpkin patch that we took her too yesterday. it was a lot of fun. she was a little overwhelmed for some of it with all the new sights, sounds, and... well, of course.. pumpkins. ;-)

on a bed of pumpkins

she got to get measured and see how tall she is. thats right. 2 whole feet!

she took a tractor ride with these two strangers. and even though they were happy and not worried at all, she was quite concerned.

i was glad that she got to ride in her first radio flyer wagon

the pumpkin seat: it comes standard in all the new wagon models. ;)

this is one of our personal favorites! i have never seen such a jolly tigger with such a serious face.

our friends philip and erika came with us

the end of the night
