introducing... the turtle face.

so so so cute.

tonight, we gave ava her first biscuit thing to chew on. im a guy, i don't know what its called. but it looks like a big cookie. well ava managed to take a large square and try to eat the whole thing at once. she looked like a boxer with a mouthguard. i couldn't stop laughing. then she forgot that she had it in her mouth and just started looking/crawling around with it hanging out.

yesterday, i also made another rookie dad mistake. we fed her a BIG dinner. then i thought it would be a fun time to crank up some tunes and dance together. you should have seen her bopping this way and that. i spun her, twirled her, and slid her. and then... i cleaned up after her.

ava has been getting up early lately. from this action, i can see that she takes after both her mommy and her daddy. she has the self discipline of her mommy, because she can get up. but she has a smile on her face even at 5:30 in the morning, because she must love watching the sun rise like her daddy.

we just found this nice hike/bike trail that the city has been putting in near our house. can't wait for that to be finished. we'll be able to run on that for miles instead of up down side streets trying to avoid cars.

funny moment to share: last night, we noticed that the rest of the house seemed nice and warm, but our bedroom was freezing. it was crazy. we must of had 4 blankets on. as i wake up and walk across the room, i notice that our door is open to the garage/back yard. man, i put on a bunch of new weather stripping around the doors in the house... i guess we better double check them to make sure they are closed. :)
