ava came home today!

Up, Up, and Away! (Where was Ava when we had the superhero party at GFA last week?)

"Oh my." (practicing her acting skills)

Alright... time for some funny stories to make their way out of the hospital room and into the laughter within your hearts. When Teressa and I were eating some food, we decided to turn on the TV and watch some of the "Caring for your Newborn" videos. As I was flipping through the different options, Teressa pointed out "Newborn Discharge." I said "Whoa! No way were watching that while I'm trying to eat lunch.".... she almost spit out her sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were referring to my child leaving the hospital, and not the various discharges that may be produced by her.

Ava sure sleeps like her Daddy... like a rock.

This is Dr. Farrow, she did a great job delivering Ava!

Okay, time for another fun fact. When Ava came out of the womb, the first thing she did was bite Dr. Farrow's finger and not let go. She was on there for a few seconds before she was pryed off. As I watched this, I was speechless and started laughing because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. But there were definitely some tears coming down my cheeks from meeting Ava for the first time. Then I quickly did my Fatherly duty of "cuttin da cord."

The yellow spots above her eyes were because she had just been under the UV lights to help take away some yellow color. She had some pretty cool shades on.

I have to admit something. I am completely 100% in love.

Check out the hair. Below is a photo of her Daddy on his wedding day. Look similar?

Ava needs to lay on this UV light blanket this weekend, even at home. Hopefully she will be done with it after her doctor's appointment on Monday.

We were glad that our friends Phillip and Erika stopped by. They were a lot of fun! - pay no attention to Ava's yawn.

We celebrated Ava's first birthday with cake and sparkling cider

The amazing McDaniel clan showed up on Thursday night. Isn't Evie cute?

Evie was very excited to show me her pirate impersonation. :)

Okay, I laughed so hard at this post...ESPECIALLY the hair look-alike shots. I'm jealous that Phillip and Erika got to hold Ava !

Just received the rizzo report
and to our heart felt gladness
we got our first glimpse of Ava
the most beautiful baby girl I've ever seen other than our Aletheia.
