visit to the lagoon

I have had so much fun this past week with Teressa, Madelyn and Ava. I'm headed back into work tomorrow, though I have been able to do a lot from home this week too. What an exhausting week though. ha ha. Sitting at my desk, talking to pastors about what the Lord is doing in Asia, that is going to feel so restful compared to keeping up with Ava all day. :-)

We had lots of fun adventures together. I wanted to have some special times with Ava this week while I was home on paternity leave and I really think we did. We visited multiple librarys (yes, I know it is spelled with an "ies" at the end, but it just seemed so ironic to leave it spelled that way) and read dozens and dozens of books. We splashed in puddle after puddle as we walked around the neighborhood a couple of nights ago during our biggest rainstorm of the year so far. She has become a very useful helper when changing Madelyn's diapers. Today, I saw her running down the hall with about 4 or 5 diapers yelling "Trash Trash!" I guess she found the diapers on our bathroom floor and decided they needed to be put in their proper place. We arn't always able to keep up with Madelyn though... judging from my wet shorts and legs that were directly under Madelyn's pajamas and diaper for no more than 2 minutes...

Today I was also able to take Ava to a waterpark down the road from our house. She had LOTS of fun. I rarely get to see such a HUGE smile plastered on her face for hours. She loves the pool. There were some tears when I told her we were heading home, but nothing that a few goldfish crackers couldn't fix. I even got an ice cream sandwich for the 2 of us to share. She sat there in her little chair just looking around. This little aquatic park has 3 pools and a lagoon. If it were up to her, she would just live there - swimming in pools all day and eating ice cream. :-)

Wanted to post a few photos. And thank you for your kind words and prayers. So many of you have been such a blessing to us with all the nice words and advice you have given us. Things are working out way better on the "sleepy" side of things too, then they did with Ava. I can usually stay up and take the night shift, so that by the time Teressa has to get up around 4 am for a feeding, she already has at least 5 hours of sleep. It doesn't always work out that way, but were really thankful for the rest when we get it.
